The Clarke Quay project is a conservation, restoration and preservation project in one of the key historic areas along Singapore River. Clarke Quay has been transformed into a tourist magnet, with dining, shopping and entertainment venues fitted into the converted warehouses and shophouses. In collaboration with architects Alsop & Partners, a street canopy provides shelter from the tropical sun and rain. The existing roads were converted to a landscaped pedestrian mall, riverside promenade and plaza. The Tropical Garden situated at one corner of the site featured a children’s play area, an open Trellis area and a Water Fountain.
